Good! I like it. The one part I am questioning is: “Um…well, actually, we lost all communication after they split.”
I wasn’t sure if he could see through our lies -
It’s just that they really HAVE lost communication with their mom, so having the bit about seeing through lies right after that line doesn’t make much sense to me. Maybe you could add, “That was the truth, but -” Well, whatever. It’s very good.
Yes, great poem! I agree that it sounds innocent and child-like : Forgive me / it was the perfect canvas / so blank / and so big. That part especially sounds like something a little kid would say. I love it =] LoA
Okay. I just read this series all the way through and I love it to pieces. This plot is hilARious!!! This characters are great. I love how you kept the reader guessing. Fabulous! Sequel! LoA
I don’t even have words for this. There’s something so profound about it. It’s very powerful and serene at the same time. It makes me think of walking barefoot in the twilight along the beach, and you look up, and there’s the very first star…and just wow. I adore this piece. 50* LoA
He is too cute. The part about Ava trying to get Jason to do something for her is funny…at least, it explains what he was talking about in the prequel. LoA
There’s a certain feel to pieces like these that makes me think – if they were being spoken aloud, it would be in a heavy, soft whisper in my ear, so only I could listen, and I alone would feel the bittersweet peace they bring. Beautifully done. LoA
I think “lovely” is just the word. This series has a light, romantic feel to it that I really like. And I liked the reference to “Cendrillon” as well. LoA
I like this. The part of “running nowhere” I can agree with – it’s something I don’t like about treadmills. I mean, you’re running hard. You should have some distance to show for it. LoA
Yeah, funny stuff like THX said. I read all these and I really like ‘em. The light trick – that’s a neat bit of information! I really like the last line too. I really want to know what happens. Sequel!! LoA
Uh, yeah. I’m going to have to agree with everyone here. Besides the fact that you need some serious editing, this uses offensive language and doesn’t have anything to do with “Reading With No Answers.” LoA
Haha Alexa! I love the fact that she was the girl with the purple notebook. It strikes me as sweet. Great dialog between Cindy Lou and….wait. Did the main guy ever get a name?? It’s been a while since I read this… Loa
hee hee. I like it =). the cookie thing definitely reminds me of me. and one thing…where it says, “Where there am no cookies,” i think that should be ‘are.’ But anyhoo. I like how there are three voices instead of just two. that’s the way it is in my head, a million different people (?) telling me what to do or say or think. LoA
Y’know, this series gives a great mental image. I can just imagine hundreds of pieces of fruit rolling out the windows, jumping on the cookie’s head, chanting or something…okay, now I’m getting carried away. ;)
You know, that actually fits strawberries really well. I mean, they’re such a show-offy red and everything. If a strawberry could talk, I’m sure this is what it would say! Hilarious! LoA
Yeah. I’ve gotta agree with Jenunique too. We are a family. Families support each other. And like Saint Chuck said, not everyone can talk to someone about their insecurities. LoA
Wow, this sounds like a great series-starter. A word of advice: you might want to revise the first sentence a little, I had to read it a couple of times to understand. But very good; good narrative. LoA
I love the sky. It’s so…big. Okay, that’s a pretty bad way to say it, but really—it’s so vast….I feel like I could fall into it or something like that. Anyway. You just made me realize how my I love the name “Skye.” It’s definitely got meaning behind it, too. LoA
Very pretty name and sweet Ficlet. WEE!!!! is right, names should leave you free to express yourself—it’s a reason I don’t particularly enjoy being an Emma. I can name seven others (at least) in my grade.
Weird! I’ve got hyper-extending fingers too! And it was only like last month that I figured out that not everyone’s fingers can bend like mine. I really like this. It’s funny. LoA
It’s over??! What?? Ack! I suppose that was the ending, but still…I’m going miss it. Great job, though. A little sad, considering how much happens, and then just for it to break off like that…but still great. LoA
Hey….this wouldn’t by any chance be the same Amberly in your other series, would it?? I haven’t been reading Letters to Amberly, but I think it would be cool if the two series intertwined… LoA
Oh God…I remember one time I was walking to school and I tripped and landed on my ice and I had a huge streak of mud all the way up my leg for the rest of the day. Beauteous job! LoA
There’s something very mystical about this. It’s a very pretty, rather haunting poem, with an almost musical rhythm. I really enjoyed it! I guess there’s only one world for it….Awesome! LoA
Beautiful! I really really mean it. I love this. It’s a little sad, bittersweet. Reminds me of some friendships of mine. This is really terrifically written. LoA
Yeah, well, I’m still a Girl Scout…I’m younger than Dante, I suppose, and besides, it’s less like real Girl Scouts and more like scheduled hang-out time. LoA
Nah, leala1953, I think it’s quite possible that this was written with THX speaking about himself. Or to himself. I’m only thirteen but I’ve felt like this frequently. You really captured the feeling. Beautifully written. LoA
What I like a lot about this series is that everything flows together, all the stories come naturally to the reader even though we’ve got three people writing them. Like THX said, almost like you planned it. Magnificent. LoA
I got it, THX, I will not get awesome til Monday! Hahaha. I was not aware that the tenth was the IDoA. Very exciting stuff. I will definitely do my best to sequel/spread the awesomeness…Buuut, not until Monday. Of course. LoA
lol. Poor girl. Very nicely written. As also, just so you know, it’s “bagel,” not “beagle.” I only correct you because a beagle is a breed of dog, and therefore could lead to some confusion. LoA
Something haunting about this…your word choice is always so beautiful. It flows so naturally. Subtle repetition (first and last line) left an echo, seemed to wrap up the story without a too-definite ending. Beautifully written. Bittersweet. LoA
