It’s crazy. And they’re all so darn good.

  2. On Shiny Mudballs:

Perhaps you’re too picky? Yeah. Think so.
Nice story. I might meditate on a sequel.

  3. On Just Looking:

    posted 6 months ago

These are pretty good, but you do know the underlying concept of Ficlets is to have other people sequel your stuff, right?

  4. On Coming from left, right and center. [Cliche challenge]:

    posted 6 months ago

I took a slightly different approach, and chose not to bold them all ;-)

  5. On Pied à Terre ~ Six Word Memoir:

I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve had those error come and go. It’ll probably fix itself.

  6. On Six Word Memoir:

    posted 6 months ago

That would be seven words, but you’ve got the right idea. Just change it to “should’ve” and you’re good to go.

    “Hey there, Delilah”?

That song is about a real person (Olympic steeplechase runner Delilah DiCrescenzo). The background story is a little creepy to me. The guy that wrote was essentially her stalker.

  10. On J.B.Williams response to the six word challenge:

    posted 6 months ago

See. Perhaps not so minimalist, after all.

  11. On Six Word Memoirs CHALLENGE:

    posted 6 months ago

Minimalist, perhaps. However, if there is one thing that has surprised me, it’s the incredible depth and richness of ideas that can be contain in but six small words.

  12. On Jean Valjean:

  15. On Love and Loss (Six Words Challenge) :

Yes, contractions are one word for this. Great job! The first is my favourite, but all three are good.

  20. On Six Bitter Words:

    Love it.
It’s fantastic how much back story can be evoked by six words!

  21. On Six Word Monster:

    posted 7 months ago

Love ‘em! Read in order, they could be a life story…

A morbid ending? “Stuck in box, where’s the light?”.

  22. On Six-word memoir, response:

    posted 7 months ago

Bingo! Perfect. Exactly the sort of thing I had in mind.

In six words you’ve pulled together significance, emotion, and a whole book of unwritten events.

  23. On In an Instant [True Story Challenge]:

  26. On Bags of Grandma [Fracture's Prequel Challenge]:

The trick is going to be exploiting those places within the rules :-O. I will be an intriguing challenge to make use of this information working only backwards!

  27. On Bags of Grandma [Fracture's Prequel Challenge]:

Nah, that’s not cheating. It’s all good. It’s fun to see if your hints are used, used in a way you didn’t anticipate, or ignored.

    posted 10 months ago

I agree. I couldn’t even make it all the way through. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting exist for a reason.

  64. On Moon (it won't rise):

    posted 10 months ago

The censoring is just silly. Leave it as it and mark it mature, or write it without.

  65. On Club Sealed (Daniel Gate):

    posted 10 months ago

Thanks. There were a couple in Path Illogical too. Did you catch those?

  66. On Fate Delivered (Daniel Gate):

  67. On Guarded Obedience (Daniel Gate):

Fantastic! I can’t write fast enough to satisfy my need to find out what happens next…

  68. On Demons:

    posted 10 months ago

I think your story is excellent, by the way. If I wasn’t at work, I might have taken a stab at a sequel.

  69. On Demons:

    posted 10 months ago

I think the point, primarily, is to have others sequel your stories. There’s nothing particularly wrong with sequeling your own, but if you’re going to do that, why not just throw it on a blog?

The fun is moving other peoples ideas forward and see what strangers make of your attempt.

  70. On Yes, Bob?:

    posted 10 months ago

Yeah. Bob and Fred don’t worry too much about typos and dialogue formatting errors ;-) .

  71. On The Kroshon Clan Introduction (Written by my 11 year old son.):

    posted 10 months ago

Your son’s story is excellent. I had to write a sequel immediately. I hope it’s up to his standards.

  72. On The Next Level (Daniel Gate) :

    posted 10 months ago

This is great, isn’t it. I’m going to have to ponder this one for a while so I don’t just cheap out with the “You may already have won!” ending that first popped into my mind.

  73. On The Growing Storm:

    posted 10 months ago

Damn. Not comment edit. Not you’re. Your.

  74. On The Growing Storm:

    posted 10 months ago

I hope you do. You’re sequel to ‘Guidance’ was great.

  75. On Writer's Block:

    posted 10 months ago

You’re not alone, BB4L. Take a tip handed from writer to writer – always keep a pad and pen by your bed. If you’re too tired to actually “wake up” and write out the whole idea, just scribble some reminders, even just by feel, in the dark.

I’ve found some really neat ideas scrawled in almost illegible script on my pad that I don’t even remember writing.

  76. On The Woods:

    posted 10 months ago

    Very good. Fantastic picture, too.

  77. On Directions (Daniel Gate) :

    posted 10 months ago

Yes! Nicely done. I love it! I wish it wasn’t so late. I want to add to it right now…

  78. On Forgotten Path:

    posted 10 months ago

Be realistic. At some point you must stop calling it “bad grammar” and start calling it “exceptional illiteracy”.

  79. On Meanwhile, At an Undisclosed Location… (Pt. 1):

    posted 10 months ago

Nicely done. Pulls it forward and begs a sequel. (You’ve got a typo in the title).

  80. On untitled:

    posted 10 months ago

It shows some promise, but the lack of capitalization, and punctuation does detract from the ideas you’re trying to get across.

I’d recommend you go back after you’re done and fancy it up, though, so fixing the formatting doesn’t get in the way of getting those words on the page in the first place.

  81. On Over the Edge:

    posted 10 months ago

    Nicely done carrying it forward.

Sorry, but I couldn’t help laugh at the lines “One man cursed as he realized that his package took a hit earlier. He’d face the Psykers without it now.”

Made my eyes water, that. ;-)

  82. On Dark Lord of the Underwear:

    posted 10 months ago

This was an easy write. It’s a real event from my commute. Didn’t have the heart to tell the kid.

  83. On The Fifteenth:

Liked it a lot. I gave a prequel a shot.

  84. On A Public Service Announcement For Ficlets (Please Read):

You’ll always get crap like that with any rated site. I’m sure when it really starts getting popular, we’ll get the spam bots too.

There are always people that are so insecure and pathetic that they have to tear down others to feel like they’re building themselves up.

  85. On Finding Fear Again:

    posted 10 months ago

No sequel from me. How about a prequel?

  86. On At Peace...?:
