He was an intelligent man and certainly did reform religion, however he wrote the book, “On the Jews and Their Lies”. This was the book Hitler used to begin WWII and the holocaust. There was another side to this individual.
Oh, I love Dubuque. Always stop there on my way to visiting Madison from good ol’ Iowa City. The view of the cliffs along the shore is breath-taking in the fall. -Mrs. D
This is an awfully hard lesson to learn a very hard way. I didn’t learn this lesson until 2 years ago in college. It is better to learn earlier I suppose. It is very well written and very passionate. Thanks for sharing. -Mrs. D
I love Jo from Little Women. She was the first heroine that I admired when I was young. Now go read Pride and Prejudice and drool of Mr. Darcy and Lizzy Bennett. You’ll enjoy them as well. :) -Mrs. D.
The quick Jewish girl response of, I’ll just believe the New Testament thing because I’ve never read any of it… I’ll have to look into those books, never heard of them. But the name is pretty cool
i remembered the first time i cut class…it was my sophomore year of high school, and i decided to go chat with my guidance counselor instead of going to consumer ed. i even got her to sign my cut slip. such rebels…
“I must remember to aim for that grouchy pair before I leave”...Love it! I always remember watching the show and wondering why someone hasn’t blown their brains out yet…looks like he is going to. -Mrs. D.
I’ll see if I can find time in my planner to do so…you know, these days are fillin’ up pretty quick. Maybe I can squeeze it in sometime between a run to the manicure salon and when I need to help my friend go look at bridal registry stuff. Yeah, that may work… scribbles in big black book
I talk to myself while driving…all the time. I have an obsession with circles too! I doodle polka dots on all of my notebooks, and i also draw spirals… I love how weird we all are! :-)
I am primarily a Bb clarinetist, but I do play bass and Eb, occasionally I sub on Contrabass when it is needed. Try switching scales each week—it would be a good way to learn all of your majors and minors. (geez, I am already a band director without the degree…)
Everything you say is quite true. #5 is exactly how I feel—I want to do it all, and I guess you just got to try and squeeze it all in there to the best of our ability. :)
1: you will keep the friends who are the most important. Some of you will grow apart, and you will find others who bring out the best in you. #4: For many years I didn’t get along with my mom. Probably from age 12-17. We were too much alike. But when I got into my senior year in high school, we began to see eye-to-eye and now we’re close friends. I trust her with everything. #5: It won’t matter what you do as long as you make a difference in a life of a child.
well written…students need a teacher as a mentor every so often. I’m sure many wish they had a teacher like this during troublesome years of high school.
Iowa City, Chicago, Confusion...it all depends on the day
I am a senior at The University of Iowa right now and hoping to graduate eventually…we’ll see if that happens sooner rather than later. Hopefully I’ll be done next year and more on to the real world to teach high school band. Hurrah for being a band nerd for eternity.
“Music is a greater revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.” -Ludwig Von Beethoven
Oh yes, feel free to sequel/prequel anything I write and let me know you did! I will be excited to read it. :) Please comment and let me know what to improve and how to do it. I can take criticism quite well.
