beautifully written.. don’t know much about vampires and things of that sort. The descriptions you wrote with were absolutely beautiful.. This story has a haunting quality to it.. just by the way you wrote and illustrated the story.. very cool photo to match.. Bravo!!
wow.. i like what you did here.. you pulled the namesake of my character and did delightful things with it. I like how you threw in the Alanis reference.. it tied in well with the story.. I like this a lot. I couldn’t have written it better myself.
wow..thats crazy.. who would suspect that they were in co hootz with eachother.. I liked your descriptions here, of his feelings and internal thoughts. Very well written. As always, a joy to read.
wow.. having an understanding of the whole “tummy buddies” thing.. and still this story didn’t make much sense to me.. held together with some interesting dialouge, but the gist of the thing is still a lil unknown.. Ah but perhaps i should go backwards a bit and see if I can’t figgure it out.. none the less it was a wonderful story.. very well written.
ha ha ..Sassy is out to prove her loyalty to Becca.. since it was recently brought into question. she figgures, if she can get Jameson to realize that she still has feelings for him. noble gesture.. the ending has proved to be a eyebrow raiser. Makes you question what she has up her sleeve. Nice work on this one.. i love how this story is developing.
John Perkins is one of the kindest most helpful people on here. I have noted him at length about various topics. He reminds me of one of those popular teachers at school. And they are popular for the right reasons. Like, Kindness, patience, and a deep passion for helping others. He is that type of person. He flat out rocks! I owe him a debt of gratitude, for all his help. Hes the best!
wow.. this story grabs your attention, and it makes you wonder why hes got a gun to his head. The child’s voice really makes the ending come together.. its a breathtaking finale.. please by all means, proceed
upon entering LOA i have not seen the use of the word “Awesome” so frequently. Good idea for a challenge.. there are so many as of late, one struggles to keep up .
holy stripes batman! This story rendered a ton of comments. I echo what has already been said. I like the internal thoughts, and the shift therein. I totally got the spelling errors to illustrate the slow movement.. Very cool idea. You really get a sense of this story. It almost plays out in the back of your head.
omg.. this story is emotionally packed. i could almost see you pounding your fist into a wall. Or the person in the story rather. Excellent descriptions. ha ha im number 14.. thats cool. Thank you!
Wow.. this is my favorite story in this series. I like how Becca laid it out on the line. She really let Sassy know the truth. Honesty is a difficult tricky thing. Sometimes you don’t want to be honest because it can potentally be painful. Good work with this story.. The face off was realistic and believable. Plus Karl was there for comedic effect. he was like the counter balance.. he gave the story some humor.. Bravo!!
Fractals provide a constant sense of wonder.. its like how a child views the world, with innocence and wonder.. They are amazing perplexing pieces of art. You could seriously look at them for hours and never get bored
amazing.. you brought your bookshelves to life with your colorful descriptions. The non book items, you gave a persona to, and you used that as you illustrated an interaction going on here from the two. Simply incredible.. how through your descriptions, it became so much more than an ordinary bookshelf.
this is a cool idea for a challenge.. there are so many things you can do with it. Its a pretty open challenge, with lots of possibilities. Must give it some thought.
I had a feeling you would appreciate and rather enjoy the Jane Austen novels.. It must be something in some of your stories, that remind me of hers. Sort of like where you perhaps found your inspiration.. That is quite an eclectic collection of books.. The swan was a nice touch.. I could almost picture it in my head.
Wow! that ending really was a buzz kill. I love the Flatulent Fricative .. very funny bit there.. You had us enchanted by a west coast sunset.. and then poor Jason has that lovely lil moment.. Good job! Funny ending! Fits the challenge perfectly!
omg thats a burn!! Poor guy. Love how you set up the story. The imagery is perfect. I like the details you gave like the rose petals and the music.. the brightly feathered birds was a nice touch. Bravo!!
awesome story.. I could almost picture the place on the roof. I totally related to the party, they usually suck. Lots of fake people there. They get together to show off.
Ha ha Paul broke his nose. I like how you made him sound. It sorta reminds me of that movie,Me,myself and Irene. Where, Jim Carrey s character gets his nose broken..
Wow.. this story is really stunning! I like the ending.. how it all caught up to him. He wasn’t as immune to death as he thought. I like the element you added with the candles, and the metaphor behind it. Well done!
Wow.. this story is breathtakingly beautiful! It fits the challenge perfectly.. You enchant your readers with your words. This story is pure literary magic!
I am awestruck..I could almost see this story unfold before me.. In my mind I could almost hear the angel speak.. Awesome story.. very gripping, and true to form.. hauntingly beautiful.
beautiful story.. love how you presented the scene and how you introduced the characters. The twist really gets you at the end.. it makes for a good ending.. Good job!!
Ha ha! thats awesome! Great ending.. This story made me think of the movie the Ring.. with the blurred out photos.. Good stuff.. Excellent entry! And also thank you for entering in my challenge!!!
ohhh spooky.. For some reason, this Robert doll in my mind looks like Chucky.. I don’t know why but he does.. Cool story.. I like the ending how shes all freaked out cuz she cant take his pic.. that adds a nice touch.
i think its kind of cool this story.. you really have people believe, that she was cheating on him.. and as it turns out.. shes not. Its a humorous ironic twist.. Nothing to be ashamed of.. Forget the typos, we all make mistakes.. Nobody on here writes a perfect story without any errors of any kind.. Flaws are a good thing!
crap my bobble heads.. are all shaking thier heads.. they dont aproove.. Siskel and Ebert both sitting in the corner both give it a thumbs down.. meanwhile Simon Cowell on the left.. said its completely dreadful.. But im gonna go with Randy on this one.. Its Boring.. too many insults.. weak analogies.. and yeah youve done better.. this story feels angry..
This story is amazing.. If heart strings were tangible they would be a violin. And this story is like someone taking that violin and playing a beautiful classical piece of music.. This story is gripping and emotionally packed. You are a master at the art of story telling. You use words in an enchanting way.. this one is going in the clippings. Honestly, this should be featured.
another amazing story .. always a pleasure to read your writing.. there is such beauty and finesse to your words, as always. I like how you carried the theme in this one. Excellent work.
I agree with everyone that this is an excellent story.. I also agree with the Box metaphor. Since there are several, each one could represent different things. .This story makes an emotional connection with the reader. It is a universal topic that everyone can relate to.. Bravo!!
Interesting story.. I like the line about the rocks being rocks.. but for some unexplained reason they looked different to him.. then further along he wonders if he was drinking.. ha ha he would know!! there is no mistaking it!
ha ha a drag queen administering a swirly thats hilarious.. like the metaphor to a Amish baptism. Good stuff. the ending was quite poetic as well.. So I do have to agree with the others on that one.. there is an exotic beauty in your choice of words, and how you chose to use them.
ha ha ha ha nice reference to the movie Joe dirt.. And, another thing.. your not supposed to give away the title of the song in the story.. your supposed to leave clues, so the reader will be able to guess.. thats the beauty of the challenge.
I have been on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen with these two.. Way to go keeping us in suspense! Mark of a well written story.. when the readers are left begging for more.. Smart Girl that Prandi. Knows how to work it with the cops I see.
love the band Cake.. my favorite song is Short Skirt, Long Jacket.. Their songs are so poetic! even some of their earlier songs.. Like Never There and The Distance.. good band! awesome story. Not familiar with this particular song, so I don’t know how it suits the story. But none the less.. great entry
wow.. beautifully written.. I know exactly what you mean.. when you savor a moment and you wish you could remember it always. I can almost see this story unfold..
wanted to quote you here “He did have time, however, to watch the slow motion ballet of two cop cars diverting around the Galaxie’s hood ” that is my favorite line.. the slow motion ballet thing.. thats just so awesome, how you described that.. It puts your reader right there in the foreground.. watching all this happen.
love the last line.. very comical and perfectly timed. Shes about to go down for GTA and yet shes worried about getting busted for not wearing a seatbelt. Too cool
the moment will be short lived. Once the adrenaline rush subsides, your brain will be scrambling to adjust to reality. And you will wonder What happened. Possibly will wish that things took to a different outcome.
Goki is a funny name.. fun little read.. I think I should have read the one before this, so I could familiarize myself with the subject matter. As usual excellent dialog versus inner monolog. With a dash of narrative.
This song is difficult to directly quote.. while incorporating a story into the lyrics. The song lyrics are there.. scattered throughout the story. The end holds the most lyrical content..
Ha ha! I had a sinking feeling this story was going to be on a Beatles song.. Without even looking at your tags.. I saw the title, and I thought to myself this must be a Beatles reference.
i agree with Jenique on this one.. Lovely story. Never heard of the song or band. But the story is beautiful. Amazing how a simple act of compassion can spark a romance. Good stuff!
Agreed.. The journey is a lot more memorable and enjoyable than the destination.. My siblings and i were trapped in the back seat.. During a road trip from New Mexico.. to Maryland. And this was the late 80s before gameboys and Nintendo ds. We had elbow fights. If we werent fighting we took turns sleeping.
omg.. this story is gut wrenching.. Its beautifully written. However, the subject matter is very intense and sad. I don’t think I have read a ficlet that held me that close to tears.. You really feel for the father in this story. he lost both his son and his wife. Wonderful, how you illustrated this very real emotion. Your story has a very honest and life like feel.
Wow.. this story is really funny. The beginning made me laugh. I love the bit about the stench.. Nice lil detail. It really “made” the story. Im a lil confused at the end, did the cop spit at the guy?
omg I love this story.. It warms my heart that you chose to write about it. I will forever remember that day.. And treasure it forever in my heart. I still have those photos.. Thank you so much for writing this story. You immortalized this day. And I am glad that it was as special to you, as it was for me. :)
aww.. I love the way you wrote his own thoughts in his head.. Very good. Your showing he has some real believable emotions. Very real to life. This story is so cute. I like how you described Prandi too..
Yeah it was a lil confusing.. You see becca talking and then a line below it in quotes.. Who’s to say if that was Becca or Sassy.. Its kewl tho..
I like the part where she is wondering who this person was standing beside her. Almost like she is ashamed to know her, due to all the crazy things shes been saying.
I can see becca becoming scared of Sassy.. Love the story title.. Good song from the 90s. The joining forces part is funny.. Wonder what crazy scheme is brewing in her head.
omg who stabs frogs that are already dead… he ha that wouldnt scare anyone.. and over a cell phone.. thats like the Kardashian sisters fighting over a Bentley
don’t recall song.. nothing about it not even the movie.. It reminds me of something on the wedding singer. Ha Ha Paul is finally realizing that he knows sassy.. thats rich
holy cow frat-boys arguing and betting over a paper, for a girl… wow.. amazing.. Could they be any more misogynist I like the developing characters here.. good work you guys!
Good depiction of a dude at a frat party.. I had to start at the beginning.. And see how this all started.. I like how you did his inner monologue. nice touch..
wow.. this is one exquisite story! Its so rich in detail. Immediately it made me think of a Jane Austin novel or a scene from the movie Marie Antoinette. You truly have a way with words.
nice pun uselessness.. wow that sounds cool catching up on this while comfortably seated in a bean bag chair.. not a bad place to be. This series will go down in history.. you two work so well off eachother. I wish kevin stuck around long enough to see this. He would gleam with pride. this story rocks btw
aww cute lil heart to heart.. I could hear them talk in my head. very believable dialouge you got going there.. I agree with the 80s music.. What a great decade!
Omg.. thats crazy.. I think Karl feels bad for Becca.. Maybe she didnt really want to be with Paul. And he sensed that. Maybe hes destracting her.. Keep it going.. This series Rocks!!
I like how you did a back story piece about Prandi. It’s like we get a feel for who she is as a person. and not some person in the bar. Great story. Excellent development of her character.
wow such a powerful story/message. Coupled by an equally impressive photo. It’s hard to believe that such a dark story came from such a photo. But I do see the connection between the two.
wow.. i can totally relate.. the shock and the horror of losing ones temper but there is a bitter sweet feeling that overcomes you. Sometimes when you lose your temper you feel justified and at the time it seems right. But then when that moment elapses you feel guilty and you wish that you had approached the situation differently. Great story.
I love it! This guy is preying upon the gullible who believe those are his words.. he is zen master, Con artist all in one.. What next he should say is ….”What’s in youurrr wallet?”
Karl.. he must be a nam vet.. or just really wierd. I agree with THX, this seems to be a lot that takes place in one night. Maybe she just took a lil nap. Never the less this story is consistently interesting,
its amazing how weather can affect your mood. When I get depressed, I watch movies, They are a great distraction. You get sucked into the movie and you forget about what was bothering you before hand.
ha ha a dance off.. too funny. Prandi competing aginst Sassy. Too cool. For some reason Karl reminds me of the barfly from the simpsons… just a thought :) love what youve done with this series
ha ha thats what he gets for being a fool. How could he forget her name, shes rather ..uh unforgetable. Nice build up. You did well transitioning from the dream to the awake state.. how mortifyingly awkward.
love the picture that you chose.. Its so arty and different. The story is cute too. I love how the innocence of the child resonates throughout the story.
dont quite understand the jist of the challenge.. I have to be honest I really dont understand what an unconventional zen master is.. but once I see some examples, I am sure to chip in. :) Welcome to ficlets (yes this is rather late..sorry) Congrats on your achievements. You should be so proud!
Wow.. not expecting the guy to die. Thats such a moving story. This really caught your attention from the start. I like how you can get the person who reads this, sucked into the story. The characters and the situation really draw you in
wow i found this one.. man this was written ages ago! I forgot how cute this story was.. we shold pick up on this story and breathe some new life into it.
Wonder what G&R Song was playing in the background… could it be Paradise City..or Sweet Child of mine. Glad you decided to keep it going.. I became rather attached to this series. I have been following it for weeks now.
in all the ficlets I have read, none have made me laugh from begining to end. This was hilarious! Man Ethan is such a lightweight.. Hes slurring after a couple of drinks!? Come on, hes high class he shouldnt be a rookie!
in all the ficlets I have read, none have made me laugh from begining to end. This was hilarious! Man Ethan is such a lightweight.. Hes slurring after a couple of drinks!? Come on, hes high class he shouldnt be a rookie!
Confirming my suspicions about Prandi and Jameson.. Sassy is probably drunk, and therefore confrontational. Im dying to know what she said to him while she was “unloading” on him. Good stuff.
no way hes a vampyre.. I thought he was just a zombie.. I like how you described the sensations of her blood and her life at diffrent stages.. you described this story very well.
I echo my fellow ficleteers on this one love the story love the details and the personifications. Phew thats a big word. I think its funny how thier all getting sick.. What exaclty was in those fajitias? Oh wait thier drunk nm. Prandi better go check on Becca.. Shes probably praying to the porcilian god.
