I’ve been writing ficlets for well over one year now, and I don’t see myself stopping any time soon… Why do I write them? The creative possibilities of a ficlet are truly limitless, and it’s a fun and cool way to simply ask the question “what if…”
What if a giant queen spider-monkey attacked Los Angeles? What if Jerry Lewis discovered the fountain of youth? What if Abraham Lincoln hadn’t been assassinated?
I find these “what if” questions popping into my head all of the time, and ficlets is a great place to explore them, have fun with them, and turn them into something I can share with the other writers here. When someone sequels a “what if” inspired ficlet, I never cease to be amazed at the variety of directions it can flow…
Stick around and write with me. This ficlets thing is headed places, and it’s a lot of fun to go along for the ride.
Special thanks to my inspiring ficleteer friends for their writing tips and encouragement – too many names to mention a complete list so I’ll just say “thanks!”
Update: I’m writing a book – it’s actually moving along quite well, and I hope to hit the halfway mark in the near future. More details later…
Note: Please feel free to sequel anything I have written here – I love reading sequels / prequels, etc. They are at the heart of what makes ficlets so cool.

My favorite fantasy author’s web site.
It was actually the Boris Vallejo book cover artwork that drew me to C. Dean Andersson’s writing. A must see – check it out here:
