A Handy Tip For Writers, Letters to the Editor Division

Posted by Scalzi about 1 year ago | Permalink | Comments (0)

Okay, folks: Generally speaking, if you get a negative review of your book, don’t send a nasty letter to the editor. It just makes you look bad. But if do send a nasty letter to the editor, don’t send it in the character of one of the characters of your book, as author Tova Reich did after a negative review of her book My Holocaust. Because then not only do you look bad, you also look, well, a little crazy. Which is not generally what you want.

Hat tip to the fine folks at Galleycat, who add their own thoughts to the matter.
