Today is a special two-fer of a day for me: It’s Book Release Day -in which an author’s latest book hits the stores – and it’s also Author Copies Day – in which the publisher of the book disgorges the contractually specified number of free copies to the author to distribute to whomever he or she sees fit; in my case to my mother-in-law, the local public library and a few other folks. Book Release Day and Author Copies Day don’t often come on the same day, but this time they did, so, w00t! My book’s in the stores and I’ve got it at home, too. Truly, the best of all possible worlds.
So, uh, yeah, my book The Last Colony is now in the stores. Try it! It tastes like chicken!
I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ll be going on a book tour to support the release of the book; I’ll be hitting book stores primarily on the West Coast and in the Midwest, wherein I’ll be doing a reading, answering questions and signing books. Here’s the schedule, in case you’re interested. One of the things I’ll also be doing is blogging the book tour here on the Ficlets Blog, so for those of you who have ever wondered what it’s like to be on a book tour, but don’t actually want to spend three weeks on the road away from your family and friends, this will be the next best thing to being there. I’ll be starting the Book Tour Blogging beginning next Monday, which is when I head to the airport for the first stop on the tour: Seattle, Washington. They tell me it should be sunny! Excellent.
At any point in the Book Tour Blogging, if you should have questions, feel free to leave them in the comments; I’ll try to get to them as I go along.
