Comments on 'A Strange Connection'

Nicòle rummaged in her purse for her keys. She was always stashing them in the most unlikely of places and it frustrated her how she could find them _only_ when she wasn't looking.
She breathed a long sigh and sought out a bench to sit whilst she unpacked the contents of her handbag.
Her neighbour, Mrs Greene was tending to her kittens on the lawns of the apartment building and Nicòle watched inquisitively as a young man approached her; his hair a veil in front of his face and his hands stuffed deep into the pockets of his grey coat. The old lady seemed surprised to see the man and quickly busied herself again with her cats, apparently uncomfortable. Nicòle wondered why she had never met the young man before and why, despite his dishevelled appearance, there was something so appealing about him.
She watched him drink in his surroundings like they were the only thing keeping him going and wondered why, despite being friends with all the other tenants, her connection with this stranger was much stronger.
