Robin leapt from building to building. The distress call had come from a location deep in Crime Alley. He had no idea what to expect. All he knew was that Batman needed help, and that was unusual. From atop an old apartment building he could see the dregs in action. Scantily dressed women stood on the corner, thugs gambled by the sewers, and punks called out derogatory lines to passers by. At the moment though, they could all wait. He snuck around to the back end of the building and over heard two men talking. &quot;Word has it someone took the Bat down tonight.&quot; One sneered. &quot;Yeah i heard it too. Wonder who finally did 'im?&quot; the other asked. &quot;Bet it was wanna them freaks he's always tangling with. Some of em got powers.&quot; The first answered. Soon they vanished into the dark and robin was alone. He crept over to where the signal had come from. The area stank of scum. Robin scanned the dusty brick walls up and down.
