I sat up my hand raced to retrive my flashlight. The fog momentarily cleared in front of me; what was one is now a pack. A pack moving slowly, cautiously, closer to me. One in the lead. I pulled myself up to run my ankle instantly folded under my weight. Massive pain shot through my leg, it's broken. I pulled myself across the dry powdered ground; the dust clouded my face. I could taste it. Praying, hoping I was still headed in the right direction. It growled, I looked behind me, it was right on me; drool hanging from the sides of it's mouth. I turned and screamed as I felt the first of the long sharp fangs tear into my flesh. I took my flashlight and hit it serveral times on the head; it squealed and ran off as the others caught up to me.
