Comments on 'Thoughts Drive Me Up the Wall {15}'

There seemed to be nothing I could do. I couldn't kick him out, and he obviously wasn't catching my hints. I thought about it for a while, but nothing came of it. Soon my mind had wandered onto other paths anyway.

I started off thinking about my father staring at me, but soon began to think about the most beautiful eyes in the world. They were a gorgeous turquoise blue that seemed to sparkle like a Carribean shoreline on one of those cruise commercials. They belonged to someone, but I couldn't quite place who. It was just a blurry memory of a nameless face. That thought led my mind down another trail: What if no one remembered me? What if I was just a "blurry memory of a nameless face?" What if my father was the only person who cared? That question led me right back to imagining my father staring at me while I "slept." It was awful. It was like a ring of torment. I could distract myself thinking of whatever I wanted but, no matter what, it was always going to lead back to my father watching me.
