Comments on 'Glitch'

"You're a glitch," he said.

Her face creased. "What do you mean, a glitch? I'm not a some kind of computer program."

He merely gazed at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Stop it," she demanded. "I am human. I live and I breathe."

"You are not human," he countered. "You are the most sophisticated model of your line, a virtual human. But there's a glitch in your program and I need to fix it."

She backed away from him. "I came to you for help. You've always been there for me and now you say this? What kind of game are you trying to play?"

"Unlike the previous models, you're not supposed to be aware of your programming. Your objective was to live life as a human, all the while gathering data for us to study."

"I'm human!" She yelled. "I am not a virtual human, whatever that is!"

He exhaled. "You are not human. Please, don't make this difficult. Just sit down and I'll repair the damage."

She shook her head. "You're not touching me. I'm leaving."

"I'm sorry, you can't go now," he sighed.
