"Nope. It's been real quiet since you left for that cruise." Kevin appraised me and added, "Speaking of that cruise, which you haven't done I might add, wasn't that supposed to relax you? You know, give you a little spare time to spend with Crabby. Not make you like Crabby and definitely Not make you even more tense so you could bust my chops all day!" I appreciated his attempt to cheer me up and smiled.
"Yes, it was; and it did!" I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down at my desk, making a mental note to have Linda check up on older missing child reports. He was still waiting for me to talk about the cruise so I steered the conversation a different way. "It was just something that happened on my way into the office..." I debated telling Kevin about the girl but shook my head. He didn't need to know anything. "Never mind."
