Comments on 'The Rundown and Lowdown on the Getdown [Ficlets Journey Challenge]'It all started with some old people on a porch. My second ficlet ever was 'The Carrot of Destiny'. And, well, it sort of went downhill from there. My first challenge was a bust. Some Southern boys got involved, and one of them may have eaten a turd. A plucky vet came along and showed up from time to time. I ate penguin, made girlfriends mad, predicted a death, froze someone, and reviewed some psychology. I even sent a poor, defenseless boy into a spooky house.
Along the way I got the bright idea to declare myself the leader of a non-existent league. Then people joined, and the league became existent, which baffled me. But it's been such a fun part of ficets for me, making it more than just writing and being creative, like I have a purpose.
Now I've got a Gnud and his girlfriend lost in a magical realm, a mysterious and sinister medical complex, and a weird guy with a tic trying to save the day. It's weird place, ficlets. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
