Lucky for me my dog has a soft spot for cats. We both rushed over, Coco as eager as me to check out what was happening. The kitten was bleeding; It looked like it had been bitten--No, bitten is too modest. _Mauled_ is more like it. His ear was torn and his chest was bloody; He had wonderful gray fur with black stripes, but it was all tarnished. But he was still breathing, and steadily, thankfully. I took my jacket off and wrapped the kitten in it. Wallet?
