There’s one thing everybody understands. A smile. To you, what goes through your mind when someone smiles at you? Answer: Smile. Laugh. Grin. Snicker. Chuckle. Smirk. _Happiness._ This strange thing that our founding fathers held so dear. Did they not stress that all men would have the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”? After watching the movie starring Will Smith, also called The Pursuit of Happyness, one line struck me the most. Chris Gardener, the main character, said, “It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? ...No matter what. How did he know that?” I’ve been thinking about this, and I realized, the smiles we share are just small steps.
