Comments on 'I'm All Out of Love [Retro Music Challenge]'John held his head in his hands, propped up on the bar. The ring, still in its box, sat in front of him.
The bartender ambled over, wiping out a mug. "So, when you gonna ask her?"
"Already tried to," muttered John. "And the response I got was '*go your own way*.'"
"Ouch, buddy," said the bartender. "I'll *save a prayer* for you tonight. So what did you say back to her?"
"Nothing," said John. "I ran. *I ran so far away*."
The bartender was bemused. "*Straight up*? Just ran out the door, huh? *It takes two* to make a good relationship, so I guess you did the right thing."
John picked up his beer. "At least I still have my *pride. In the name of love* -" he raised his glass and finished the remainder in one long gulp.
The bartender smiled. "Good for you. *Keep on loving - you* never know what's *in the air tonight*. Might be the girl of your dreams is here now."
With that, John perked up. "*You may be right*," he said, putting the ring and its box into his pocket.
