I had always seen my father hit my mother in the kitchen as I just sit with my hands over my ears. I had always wanted to run away but I was always too scared of what may happen if I was caught by my father. We were prisoners in our own home. It wasn’t till I was at the age of fifteen when I ran as fast as I could away from home. With only the clothes on my back! I had gotten on a train. That was going south bound far away from where I had resided.
