"Go on, man!" Tim urged me. "Ask her!"

"No!" I almost shouted it. I was getting so frustrated with his pushing. "I can't."

"Stop being such a coward." Sounded like he was getting frustrated, too. "You're the only one in the group who doesn't have a date for the dance!"

"Right! And there's a good reason for that. I'm not going!" He was my best friend, but, dammit, I wanted to deck him.

"Why? Why is it so damned hard for you to ask her? You _know_ you want to."

"It's just..." How could I explain it so he'd understand? "It's just that something really weird happens when I talk to girls."

He started laughing. "Dude, we learned all about that in sex ed!"

"Not that, you perv!" Okay. I'd show him.

I walked up to Cindy. "Um... Cindy?" She turned around, and then it happened. Out of nowhere...

_TOGETHER FOREVER_
_AND NEVER TO PART_
_TOGETHER FOREVER WITH YOU_

Tim's jaw dropped.

She smiled and laughed. "Oh, my god!" she yelled over the music. "You, too?!"

Me, too?!

Maybe the dance wasn't such a bad idea...

It’s not him singing, it just shows up.
I’m going to have to seriously re-think this. (And maybe I shouldn’t write when I’m so tired.
