She smiled at me. "Sorry, but I only _kiss_ on the first date. We'll have to see how the next one goes."
"Does it have to be a whole month?" I asked. "I'll…miss you."
"I think it's best we start our relationship out slowly," she said. "It wouldn't do to go too fast when we have to live with each other already. I wouldn't want the thought of me to sour your stomach. After all, I have to live there." She winked. "See you when I see you."
I nodded silently, then closed my eyes and parted my lips. She sighed, then leaned in close and whispered, "You're a good person, and I'm probably being too hard on you. But I'd rather be safe than sorry." Then she kissed me, and I swallowed, and she was gone.
With a gurgle and a pleasant warm feeling, she settled into my gut, and started working on the Italian food I'd eaten earlier.
