So Tom Sawyer picks up a random gun that just happens to be lying there and takes aim about to shoot the longest shot he has ever taken. He points the gun, pulls the trigger, and misses. But, fortunately, a giant sea lion takes that moment to burst out of the ice and eat a random human. Yah!
"Nice Miss."
"you're alive!
"Yeah i was faking, i just wanted to see if you could shoot him."

I love the detail of the random gun that just happened to have been lying there, as well.
