"Tell me he hasn't gotten this far." I said, half to mysefl, half to Detective Redmon.
"He has." Detective Redmon said, the grim look on his face darkening.
"He can't have furthered the disease this far need fresh tissue like this." I said, looking at the organs still pulse with life while the rat's eyes where ripped out and the mouth hung open in bleak surprise.
"Looks like he has, and we are too late." Detective redmon said. "We are doomed. Quarantine the area."
I looked at the blood spattered on the linoleum floor as the empty eye socket stared me in the face.
