Comments on 'Mary Cole 'He looked at me, his eyebrows furrowed.
"What?" I asked him, kind of defensive.
"Oh nothing. Just, do I sense something in the way you said _Mary Cole_?" He tried to imitate me on the last part. We burst out laughing.
When we were done, I answered, "Uh, maybe."
"Why, do you not like Mary Cole?"
"Well, not exactly, it's not like she's ever _talked_ to me, so how would I know? But, well, you must have heard the rumors. I've even heard her confirm some of them in the locker room."
"Oh yeah, because she said it in the locker room, it _must_ be true."
I rolled my eyes. "But either way, she's like, promoting them, isn't she?"
"I guess. But, ugh. Let's just stop talking about her. Come on, we're almost there!"
"Uh, ok. But, where exactly?"
"I told you! Do you _want_ me to screw it up?" We looked at each other, half-smiling. "Yeah, don't answer that," He said, looking back out the window. I laughed.
"Oh! We're here! Come on, let's go!" He grabbed my hand and we got out. I gasped.
