  <title>Comments on 'Little Girl'</title>
<subtitle>The little girl knew the house up on the hill was haunted. Every kid in the neighborhood whispered about it. But she wasn't afraid.

She'd been through the worst already.

She knocked on the front door, but nobody came. She didn't think they would- nobody lives here but the ghosts.

The door opened, and she stepped inside. The house was old and dusty, spiderwebs and giant spiders everywhere. There was the sound of something scurrying in the walls. But she wasn't afraid.

She'd been through the worst already.

It was upstairs where she found the ghost- a small kitten someone had lost along the way. &amp;quot;Meow,&amp;quot; it said. It walked right up to the little girl and she picked it up.

&amp;quot;Come on, Kitty,&amp;quot; she said as light filled the room. &amp;quot; We're going home.&amp;quot;</subtitle>

<content type="html">&lt;p&gt;The repetition of &amp;#8220;she&amp;#8217;d been through the worst already&amp;#8221; makes me want to know what exactly it was. And the ending is normal-seeming enough &amp;#8211; but you place just a few sentences throughout to make it seem not quite so. I am intrigued&#8230;&lt;/p&gt;</content>
