Comments on 'REACTr: A Taste of Something Smuggled In'

The vehicle accelerated to 200 mph as it entered the NetWay. A blaze of blue lights streaking in the rain.

It linked with the other cars, directing them to clear a path, then it punched up to 300 mph and began to weave, wildly in and out of traffic. None of the other drivers even noticed... just another day on the NetWay.

"Sup Chief?" Nick asked.

"Nasty situation. It's a mess on a container ship inbound from Japan. Got your whole team en route," the man on the monitor replied.

"Sounds like a job for the port authority, not Advanced Cybercrime."

"Illegal nanotech, military grade, possibly REMORA and outlaw cybernetics... some heavy duty shit. In other words, cut the crap Nick and get your ass down there."

"Yes sir."

Images from the officers already on scene began to fill the screen along with information about the ship. From what he could see, it really was a mess.

_REMORA,_ Nick thought.

He was _definitely not_ going to have a good morning and it's _definitely_ going to be a long day.

@John, Good catch on the edits, the Advanced Cybercrime used to be part of a sentence but I changed it and forgot the punctuation. You for your is a bad habit of mine… do it all the time. I had the idea for the NetWay for a long time. Embedded markers in the road along with a central network and local area info share between cars would prevent lots of wrecks… in you’ve ever driven Houston rush hour traffic, you’d understand.

Whoever that is. I’m assuming that REMORA is neither fish, nor Mitchell Music.

Cool. Good pacing and nice sense of action in here. Though, I still think you could have introduced the chief in this one.
Also, before Pyro gets in here to beat me to the punch, “not Advanced Cybercrime?” is a statement, not a question. And it should be “and get your ass” down there.
Finally, ever since the Furby was released, I thought they should implement a similar system in cars. They should all talk to each other, so that was cool to see you use something like that here.
