Comments on 'Riding It Home (Unconventional Zen Master Challenge)'

Todd dove into the water and paddled out, following Trent. “Ok, so how am I supposed to find answers here?”

“Ask.”

“I’ve been asking, but you keep talking like an MTV version of Yoda. ‘Not all questions have answers,’ and crap. All I want to know is how do I get out of here?”

“Is that really all you want to know, or is it simply all you want to know right now?”

“Dude, seriously? Yes. Just tell me how to get out of here.”

“Bummer. I suppose you are not truly ready. To get back, take this next wave.” A seven foot swell was closing fast on the two surfers. “This will take you home.”

Todd, willing to try anything to get back to his friend—and the free tacos—paddled as hard as he could trying to catch the wave. As the swell began to break, he popped to his feet.

A curl formed in the break, knocking Todd off his board. He struggled against the current to reach the surface as air became more precious. Finally, his head broke through the ocean, just in time for his board to come back and knock him unconscious.
