  <title>Comments on 'Her Defeat and Encounter'</title>
  <subtitle>_The day she gave up, you could see it in her face._

_Her face was like a book, you could find out so much about her, if only you cared to look. And her face looked different, defeated. But also a little relieved. Like her struggle was over. Because her turn was over, and she was done playing._

I took a bite of my sandwhich and surveyed the scene before me.

There was crowd gathering around someone. A new student, I had overheard from the table of &amp;quot;jocks&amp;quot; two tables down.

The new girl was very petite. Short and skinny. Her hair was platinum blond, but with brown streaks. Her face was caked with make-up and she was dected out in A&amp;amp;F.

The new girl would fit right in with all the girls that ignored me. But then she did something crazy, and walked up to me.

&amp;quot;I can't find anywhere to sit, is this seat taken?&amp;quot;

I decided not to point out that she had just found a seat, and nodded.

&amp;quot;Sweet!&amp;quot; She smiled sweetly and sat down. &amp;quot;I'm Audrey by the way, what's your name?&amp;quot;

&amp;quot;Sydney. My name's Sydney&amp;quot;</subtitle>
