I would never know where I slipped up and let my whole plan explode, figuratively, instead of literally like I had hoped.
I would never know the mistake that would take me from the front-page infamy I had hoped for to a back-page obituary that no one even looks at.
I would never know. Except that Frank decided to tell me. Standing in front of that mirror, with the barrel digging into my right temple, he told me the whole story. From start to finish. Perhaps Frank Slain can talk about how odd it is that Joe Saint (or something) became such a bad guy, or how Joe Robber is such a goody-two-shoes.</p>
