smarty101's Stories

Other than writing (either on Ficlets or in one of my many notebooks) I like to draw comics and doodle during my free time at school. My comics are Super Eyebrow and Staple Kid; Hair Boy and Plant Girl; and my latest is Superkid. My Ficlet series are:
Ace Casecloser- http://ficlets.com/stories/24706
Pirates!- http://ficlets.com/stories/29954
(More to come!)
I read every book in the Harry Potter series, even though I'm in fifth grade.
I love the Scary Movie series of movies, but I think the third one was a little scary. I like the fourth one the best, and I hope they make a fifth one, although I highly doubt it. I lIkE cHoCoLaTe MiLk! =] SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS ROCKS!
Yeah all of my friends are goofballs and if you don't like 'em that means you won't like me. My goofiness can get a little extreme at times, I have to admit.
I know you don't care, but I can make fart noises with my armpits AND my knees. Whahuhahaha!

I held my breath as I came closer, until I was so close that if I moved one finger, I would be discovered.
And then I leaped out and drew my cutlass out at the same time, hopefully catching the person off guard.
“Have mercy,” he was a weak, timid man. I put my cutlass back in its sheath.
“This is my ship. How long have you been here?” I clenched my fists.
“I- I don’t know.”
“Follow me, you fool.”
I got a hold of his arm and pulled him out onto the main deck. Then I rang the “get out on the deck or get thrown overboard” bell. In a minute, the whole crew was standing there. There was a buzz of excitement in the air.
“I found this idiot hiding near the cabins. What are we going to do to him?” I shouted to the crowd.
A rumble of responses came from the crowd such as, “throw him overboard,” “take everything he has,” and even a bit of “hang him by his toes so all can see.” Yes, I loved being a pirate.

The doctor wants to make sure you’re okay.”
“What about Jay?” Jeremy looked at his grandfather straight in the eyes.
“Jay? Oh! The blue jay that saved you? We haven’t found him yet. I expect it’ll be easy, though. Not every blue jay wears a sweater.”
“Okay. What time is it?”
Grandpa looked at his watch. “Nine P.M. already! It’s time for you to go to bed.”
“Alright.

So this was it. This was the end of Jeremy Evitts. He never thought he would die, well at least not in this way. As he layed on his bed, he remembered. Not just the past few days. He remembered his whole life. When they bought the house, when his mother taught him how to feed himself, when he first went to school, when he graduated from Kindergarten, when he had his first sleepover, etcetera.
Then he felt his whole body slowing down. And just like in that dream about the car crash, the whole world became blurry. Then, darkness swallowed the world in front of his eyes. He could hear his heartbeat. Thump, thump, thump It started slowing down. Thump.. thump.. thump.. And then even slower. Thump…. thump…. thump…. Thump. He couldn’t hear anything now. He felt wind rushing through his hair, and he felt like he was flying. The sensations he went through were unexplainable. “Good bye Earth,” he said, and he flew up and away.

Jay chirped an nudged his hands, and finally Jeremy opened his eyes just enough for Jay to see them. “Jay, I feel like death itself,” he mumbled. “You better leave.”
Jay stayed in his spot. “I don’t want you to see me this way, and if worse comes to worse, I don’t want you to see me die.”
Jay stayed. I’m not leaving you. He sobbed and sobbed and sobbed even when it made his lungs, throat, and chest hurt, and made his face sticky and his eyes swollen from all the tears. Jay swooped in (he had just been getting worms to eat) and landed by Jeremy’s side. Why are you crying? Jay thought. Jeremy took his head out of his hands and looked down at Jay. “I feel miserable,” he sniffed. “I’m hungry, thirsty, weak, and if my life changes at all, it’s going to get worse.”
Your life isn’t that bad. But then again, I’ve never lost both of my parents in such short time, and my food is plentiful. Jay thought. Jeremy sighed. “Sometimes, I wish that I was in that car crash with my mother, like in my dream,” another tear leaked out of his eye. “But then I wouldn’t have met you,” he added.
He stroked Jay’s feathers and walked outside.

Once Jeremy fell into a deep sleep, he started dreaming. It was a rainy day and he was sitting next to his mother in the car. They were driving down the highway to the grocery store. As they went across a bridge, a car ahead of them slammed on the brakes and skidded. The next car smashed right into its side. Jeremy’s mother skidded and when she smashed into the car in front of them, they flipped and fell off the bridge. As they careened to the water below, Jeremy accedentally slipped out of his seat belt, and landed on the roof of the car. They splooshed into the water and it seeped in slowly, as if it were mocking them that they couldn’t escape however slow it entered the car. After it finally filled up, Jeremy gasped for breath, and water entered his lungs. It filled up his throat and mouth, and the world became blurry.
He woke up like always, in a cold sweat. But this time instead of trying to go back to sleep, he stayed up the rest of the night and thought about his dream.

He looked out the window that was in the kitchen and noticed the changing colors of autumn. He couldn’t believe how it was summer a few days ago. Jeremy looked at Jay, not believing that he wasn’t off flying south for the coming winter. Jay looked back at him. I won’t leave. I’ll stay here even if the temperature goes below freezing. Jay thought.

As he got into bed, he thought about where Jay would sleep. He quick got some branches off of the tree next to his house, and used some spare rubber bands to put them together. He set it right next to the always open window (he promised Jay he wouldn’t close it). As Jeremy and Jay went to bed, Jeremy whispered about his past, and Jay pateintly and quietly listened. When he was done with his story, Jeremy wiped off the teardrops on his cheeks and checked up on Jay. He was still awake, as if he was listening the whole time. “I probably kept you awake with my ranting and raving,” Jeremy said to him, then got back into bed.
No, Jay thought, You have an interesting past and I’m glad you told me about it. I’ll see you in the morning, Jeremy.
Jay got comfortable and soon fell asleep, as soon as he knew Jeremy was sleeping, too.

The Blue Jay

Jeremy awoke early the next morning to the sound of a bird tapping on his little window. He opened it up, and the bird happily swooped in. He knew something about this blue jay. Something told Jeremy that he was without parents. So he closed the little widow and the little blue bird flew around the house.
In less than a few minutes, Jeremy could hear the bird tapping on the same little window, trying to get out. Jeremy hesitated, but then opened it up. “Easy come, easy go,” he mumbled and watched the bird glide away.
As Jeremy layed on his bed with the window open, (it was a beautiful day) he heard the familiar sound of fluttering wings. He excitedly looked out the window, and to his amazement, he saw the little blue jay coming back. “You were out getting worms to eat!” Jeremy realized.
He thought since he was bonding to the bird, he should give it a name. “Jay,” he said. “Plain and predictable, but nice. I think we should stick together, Jay. We’ve got one thing in common. We’ve been abandoned.”

Jeremy's Past

Jeremy sighed as he layed in bed. His parents had been gone for almost one month now. Well, not exactly. His father went in the army last year, and just 2 months ago someone came to tell his family he was dead. His mother was out getting groceries one day, and as he watched the news, it reported that there was a huge car wreck on the highway, and his mother was one of the people in it who had died. His last food supplies ran out last week, so now he was just skin and bones. He also didn’t use the shower much, because he knew bills would come for it sooner or later, so he was dirty with brown, mussy hair. He hadn’t gone to school ever since his mother was in the car wreck. He only thought about these things at nighttime, when there was nothing else to think about, and he quietly cried himself to sleep.
Jeremy tossed and turned in his sleep. Every single night, he dreamed that someone, somehow ended up killing him. He always woke up in a cold sweat, then fell back asleep.
