Misheru O'ku's Stories

I recently decided to start writing again. My quixotic ambition is to eventually become a writer on a full-time basis, thus here I am. This will serve as an experimental portfolio of my work. I hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoy writing it. Feedback is always welcomed as I am always looking to improve.

-M.O.

Quotes that keep me writing . . .

"However great a man’s natural talent may be, the act of writing cannot be learned all at once." – Jean Jacques Rousseau

"You have to write a million words before you find your voice as a writer." – Henry Miller

"You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." – Jack London

"Having imagination, it takes you an hour to write a paragraph that, if you were unimaginative, would take you only a minute. Or you might not write the paragraph at all." – George Herbert

I’m sorry I threw your stuff out the window. Specifically, your records, DJ equipment, CDs, iPod, clothes, and whatever else appeared to be yours. It just seemed like a good idea at the time, when I found out you were having sex with that slut next door.

On second thought, I really don’t regret it at all. And I think I’m going to also key your car . . . and call your mother. I’ll tell her about all the pot you smoked, how you dropped out of school, and used the money she sent you for tuition to buy your drugs and booze.

I’ll be gone by the time you’ve discovered what I’ve done and the only thing you’ll have to remember me by is this note, if you even remember me at all.
