I woke up and didn’t know who I was. The birds were chirping outside, it was shinning bright. There was no reason for this latest panic attack.

I had spent the past year working toward something. This vision of my life was elusive.I was working toward it and the further I ran toward it the further I felt away from it. I started pacing, cleaning and I found a diary entry from when I was a child it said, “I want to grow up to be a good and kind person.” Could my life be as simple as that?

Flat Hicks disappeared for a day

Once upon a time…
Flat hicks went with me to the Red Door Spa. He decided I was taking too long and went for his own walk. When I realized he was no where to be found I started walking back and forth in 30degree weather looking for him. I was calling friends asking if they had seen Flat Hicks. One suggested that I put out an Amber alert for Flat Hicks. I even went back to the Spa and put a missing description that looked like this, “Flat doll (Male) wearing green shirt that says, ” I draw pictures all day.” Please call…”

I walked back home in my disappointment. I was really nervous about being the first person to host and loose Flat Hicks. I prayed that Glenda the Good Witch would not be disappointed and could use her magical powers to find Flat Hicks. I walked through the door, fingers frozen and Flat Hicks was waiting in the dining room for me. Relieved I kissed him and angry at him for running off. Friends are hard to find, literally.

Once upon a time… I was invited by Kevin Lawver to work on this awesome project called Ficlets. So the dream became reality when we launched it a few days before SXSW 2007 . Things are starting to get back to normal now that I am home. I hope that everyone enjoys working on this as much as I have working on it. Please write and tell your friends about Ficlets because we love our project a lot and we just want to make it fun. ::hugs:: for everyone!
