Sorry I've been gone so long. I sorta went through a little slump, I guess you could say. But I'm back now and better than ever! (At least, I hope)

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I'm a middle schooler who will eventually graduate - from Oxford U with my journalism degree or get a degree in engineering. I like to read, write, and play my flute.I have a passion for my robotics team, of which I am the secretary. I am Pirates biggest fan, and I love Hello Kitty. I think Ask A Ninja and Jeff Dunham are cool.
I love all my friends on this site, and their stories as well. Lefties rock.I am a tree hugger and I love the environment. I am in robotics and the famed LoA. You can call me Queen Quirkiness of Awesomeness.

"Prosperity provideth, but adversity proveth friends."
-Queen Elizabeth I

"This is neither madness, nor brilliance"
"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide."
-Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

"One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness."
"Though it seems enough to condemn him."
-Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
-Muriel Strode

"'And so the lion fell in love with the lamb...,' he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
'What a stupid lamb,' I sighed.
'What a sick, masochistic lion.'"

“Oh, just a little…. pest control problem,” Lilly said with a smile on her face.

Grinning, Brian said,
“So you ready to teach me how to dance?”

“Definitely!” Lilly exclaimed.
Both of them rushed to the dance floor.

“Ok, you’re doing good, you got it,” Lilly said calmly.

“So, like this?” Brian asked, slowly waltzing around.

“Yes, exactly,” Lilly said, a huge smile on her face. Suddenly, a familiar song played.

“Ok everybody, you know what this means! Macarena time!” the DJ announced.

“I think I got this one,” Brian said playfully.

“Oh yeah, well let’s see,” Lilly flirtilly said back.

“You’re on,” he said. By the time the song was over, neither of them had missed a beat.

Thankfully, they got to the prom before it could get too embarassing. When they pulled into the parking lot, Brian held open the door for Lilly, and they walked in linking arms.
“This,” Lilly thought, “is going to be the best prom ever”

“You look gorgeous!” Kate exclaimed.

“But what if he doesn’t like my hair, or my dress, or-”

“Honey trust me, he’ll love you,” Kate replied.

Just then, they heard the honk of a horn. The girls looked at
each other, both excited.
“Let’s go!” they squealed.

“Hey Lilly, you look beautiful,” Brian said. He was in a sharp black tux that accented his sandy blonde hair.

“Thanks, you look great too,” Lilly said, blushing.
“Well, off to the prom!” one of Brian’s friends shouted.

Adventures In Virtual Africa(Twilight Challenge)

It was a long, hard day in the desert of Africa. Or, so I liked to think. I mean sure, maybe I wasn’t actually there, but those man eating gazelles can be pretty hard to kill when you have a beat-up keyboard like mine. And those small, almost invisible swarms of mosquitoes can be quite hard to see with my old Gateway monitor. But nonetheless, I battle it out.

My only saving grace – Audrina. She has made it all the way up to the lion position, where I am but a mere baby zebra. It’s basically like being a lamb. A dumb, useless, lamb. Audrina is my partner in the game (Adventures in Virtual Africa) and my girlfriend in real life. She always makes fun of me for being below her, but today I will catch up. Just you wait.

After my lunch, I signed on to my computer. After about an hour of playing, I had been demoted to a gnat. I mean a gnat for crying out loud! What was I doing!
Just before I signed off to go wallow in my misery, she had to rub it in: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.

Waving goodbye to a surprised Kate, she hopped into Brian’s convertible and drove off.

As they were on their way to who-knows-where, Brian reached for her hand. Smiling to herself, she took it gladly.
“So, what kinda music do you like Lilly?” he asked.
“Ummm, anything you like,” she said, figuring that was the easiest answer.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m sure, anything’s fine. Hwe turned on the radio to the oldies station. Embarassed, his ears glowed red at the tips.
“This is the music I really like,” he said bashfully.
“Are you kidding, I love oldies!” she said, happy that they had something in common. They talked about the Beatles and Rolling Stone the whole time.

“Hey baby,” Madison said in the sultriest voice she could muster.
“Uh, hey,” he said, seeming confused.
“So we’re totally going to the prom together, right babyy?” she said.
“Well, I actually asked Lilly,” he said. He then looked at Lilly and said, “She’s all I’ll ever want.”
Furious, Madison stamped her foot. Losing the sultry voice, she said, “After all the good times we had, after all the laughs?”
“Yeah, like when I found you against a locker making out with Chris? Hilarious,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Lilly stuck her tongue out at Madison when Brian wasn’t looking.
Seeing this was going nowhere, she stalked off, yelling, “You guys will be-” And at that instant she stopped yelling, because she ran head first into the trash can.

flute faerie's 1000th Comment Challenge, The Nice Things Challenge!

Once, when I was in fifth grade, our class was given an assignment. It was to write one nice thing about each person in the class. She told us of one class who did this; years after, when they were all much older, one of their classmates died. They found his list in his pocket, and everyone else said that they still had theirs too. I thought this was a great idea. I still have mine as well.

So I guess you are starting to figure what my challenge will be about now. For my 1,000 posted comments (yes!) challenge, I would like to re-do this concept. (I hope it’s not been done before.) Ok, here’s the deal. Now, I’m not saying say something nice about every user on Ficlets, that would be way too hard. Instead, say one nice thing about at least 3 authors on this site. That’s all the rules. Be nice, and have fun!

“But don’t you, like, need two?” I said confusedly.

“This is Braden,” he said, pleased with my reaction. “It’s ok, you can come pet him, he won’t bite.”

“Wow, he’s really soft,” I said. “And so pretty,” I added. “Where do I get them?”

He gave her directions to a store called Naturally Wild.

“Ahhhh, it seems he’s getting through to the young boy,” said the god Aero.

“Yes, it does, doesn’t it?” said Flora.

“I wonder what he’s telling them?” replied Aero.

“He’s probably bribing him,” said Scorchi, entering the room with Aquari.

“No, I bet you he’s sweet talking Han,” said Aquari.

“Either way, our plan is being carried out just fine. That’s all I’m worried about,” said Aero.

“I can’t wait until all the dragons are gone,” said Scorchi excitedly.

“Me neither,” said Aquari. “Then our world can go back to normal, like it belongs,” he continued.

“Yeah,” everyone agreed in unison.

meanwhile…

“So where first?” Han asked The Feared One.

“Bulgaria,” he replied, while really thinking, “The first place I can lose you.“

They were planning to ride there on Sao’s back. They had already retrieved the eggs. Han climbed on first, the The Feared One. They were off.

“Can you believe it!” Kate exclaimed.

Finally coming back to reality, Lilly started jumping up and down.

“I can’t believe it!” she squealed. “I have to look perfect for this dance!” she said.
“Ok, we can get our hair done by your aunt, cause she’s good at that stuff. And we can get our nails done at the salon downtown, they’re really good. And as for our shoes-”

“Lilly, take deep breaths. We have all night to figure this stuff out, remember? I’m sleeping over tonight,” she interrupted.

“I know, I’m just happy!” Lilly said, giddy.

Too bad she didn’t see the storm coming up the hallway. Her name: Madison Gonzalez.

“I bet you’re right! Ha, little do they know my birthday’s actually in the summer. That was a nice cover, by the way. But who was around then?” Kate asked.

“Umm, well, there was Keegan, Sara, Max, Adam, Jillian, and… Brian,” Lilly said, shocked with the last realization. Brian was there. He was around. He could have been the one-

“Lilly, snap out of it! I bet you anything it was him! You have to go talk to him!” Kate squealed so fast it sounded like it was all one sentence.

“But I’m still not sure it was him. It could have been anyone else too. They could have heard it from somewhere else,” Lilly said, still not willing to believe it.

“Well, here comes your chance. Brian’s walking this way,” Kate said.

“I believe you,” Kate said firmly.

They both walked to Lilly’s locker, anxious for the start of a new day; and the start of the last week before prom. Kate already had a date; her boyfriend Max.

“Huh, this is weird,” said Lilly.

“What?” Kate asked. “What’s weird?”

“This,” Lilly said, pointing to a box wrapped in birthday paper in her locker.

“But that’s silly, today’s not your birthday,” Kate said.

“I know,” she said, miffed. She decided to open the note taped onto it.

“I can’t believe she’s trying to restore the Protestant religion! Just like her father, that one. A liar at that,” the non-believers would proclaim.

As if these comments could change me. I scoffed at them, their negative comments trying to hurt me. I knew deep inside what I was supposed to be, what I was called to be. And I knew that God was happy with me, which was all that counts. As I once said,

“Prosperity provideth, but adversity provideth friends.”

Hello. Yes, it’s who you think it is. It’s me; the blade of grass down here. I know you probably think you’ve gone insane, but before you pick me, I want to tell you something.

Now I know you may think that picking one blade of grass couldn’t do any harm. But imagine what would happen if everyone in the world said that. If they did, there would be many bare fields, many bare meadows. Much of our earth would be lost, the natural beauty ruined.

If there was no grass, cows, horses, and other animals couldn’t eat. Then we wouldn’t have hamburgers, and other animals would lose their vital resources as well. The whole ecosystem could be ruined, if there was no grass in the world.

So you see, I am not saying this to sound mean, but us blades of grass really are important. So before you go picking us like we’re nothing, think again. Because we only want what’s best for you, and whats best for our earth.
