She sits there, slumped against the window. Defeated; and bitter about it. Her hair is dissarayed, her eyes unfocused. She fiddles uselessly with the tiny paper balls she has crushed into existance.

She’s tired and even this teeny activity is more than she wants to manage. After a moments struggle against the discomfort of british rail, she slips away. Asleep. Hands against the pain and hands folded in her lap. Asleep.

Wouldn’t you have kissed her?

We blast through the mist as we hit the shore. The flaring Blaster packs on our backs ignite small pockets of toxic swamp gas behind us, so we emerge from the mist in a green fireball that scorches the shrub-like trees just behind us on the shore, yet I know Jessie, the same as myself, hasn’t felt a degree of change in temperature. The automated motion capture sensor in my visor locks on and zooms in, it’s a small group of children playing in the grass, the sun glints gently of their sweaty black skin, I can see big smiles on their faces even from this distance and a red ball is being kicked subtly between them. I can imagine the noise they’d be making, though the helmet is unable to pick it up from here, giggles and squeaks, laughter mixed with screams. There’s no way they could have heard us approaching and as soon as we’re in range my chest mounted cannons lock on and at my command fire into their tiny forms.
