When A Bell Rings

As he stood on the hilly terrain, he could feel the silent October wind blow past him. With one swift movement, he pulled his hood over his eyes, shadowing his face completely. He glanced up at the church clock. 7:57. He knew the time was near. He sighed. He could wait no longer, but he knew he must. He looked at the birds and at the trees below, swaying in the wind. He glanced back up at the church clock. 7:59. Then the wind kicked up, sending a howl that sent a shiver through his spine. The church bell sounded, and he smiled and said, “When a bell rings, an angel gets it’s wings.” and he flew off.
