“He is, but I have to go. I have to do the security papers now.” That was a complete and total lie, but I didn’t want to misuse any of my time by talking to Rose, when I could be smiling and having fun with Nick.“Ok, see ya,” she said, disappointed.“Bye,” I replied. Five seconds later I hung up the phone. Then I quietly turned the corner, only to see Nick on his cell phone. “No, she had to answer her cell phone too.” Oh my goodness, he’s talking about me!
“She’s pretty, easy to talk to, everything I imagined. . .” He paused. “Well I have to go. I don’t know when she’ll be back, and I don’t want to desecrate my time.” He paused again. “That means I don’t want to waste my time with you, when I could be with her. It’ll be really embarrassing for her to come back and seeing me on the phone.”
