“Can’t you just go on one date with me?!”

“Jack, you know I can’t do that.” I held Shade’s face next to mine. “This is my boyfriend. I don’t think he’d be too thrilled if I went on a date with you. Now do you have anything that can help him?”

“Why would I help him?”

“Cause ya luv me.” I replied with a wink.

“Yes. Yes I do. But I don’t want to support my competition.”

I let out an overexaggerated sigh and looked up at the ceiling, as if it held the answer as to what I should do. I sighed again as I raised my head to look at Jack’s. Then back over to Shade, and finally to Jack.

“If I go on one date with you, will you give me the potion?” I ask, dreading the day where I’d hold up my side of the deal.

“Of course!!”

“Well then, go get it.”

I watched, and laughed, as Jack ran from shelf to shelf, searching frantically for the potion. After he’d searched the entire room, he looked as if he were going to give up. I winked at him again, and that gave him the strength to look again.

    I hope he finds the potion and gets the “date” he so desperately wants. Great ficlet. loved the dialogue, you sequeled it well.
