   Therefore dy/dx = 12x^3 + 4x

   there’s your answer, to solve tht issue =] (go pre-algebra honors!!) i culda solved tht last year too. you are no match for me mwahha.

    since we’re on the subject of science now, anybody care to explain the vacuole, nucleus, golgi bodies, etc. of a cell? i don’t get it, and i have a bazillion point test tom. =[

    btw, dy/dx = 12x^3 + 4x is incorrect. it’s 3x to the power of 4, not multiplied by for. therefore, it is 61x + 4x = 65x. unless tht was another part of the equation?

    I’m pretty sure I differentiated it right, but it wasn’t very clear given the unexpected superscript. What I’d meant to write at the start was “Let y = 3x^{4^ + 2x}2^{”, which does differentiate to dy/dx = 12x}3^ + 4x. Not that it really matters!
