Murderous Look

by -PeacockQuill-

So calm. It was a welcome change from the usual atmosphere around Mrs.Robbin’s house. The tourists flocking in from all over the country, all wanting the hot Miami sun. The hoodlum children they brought along sometimes. She sighed. Those were the worst. They would comment on the local girls, and ruin her garden. Her only consolation was that her grandchildren would never be like them. Suddenly she saw someone climbing over her fence. She grabbed her cane and wobbled outside.

“Hey, you! Get off my fence!!”

The person paid no attention. Now she could see it was a boy, and he walked towards her with a murderous look in his eyes.

“Get off my property or I will call the police!!!”

The boy smiled cruelly and pulled a knife out of his pocket. He ran up to the old lady and put the blade against her neck.

“You’ll call the police, you old hag?! Not before you call your rich son to pay your ransom.”

Mrs. Robbin didn’t know what to say. She was being held ransom. She would die, she would die for sure…

Very scary turn at the end. The line about hoodlum children is a fragment, which bothers my overly rule-bound mind, though I can see where you were going with it.
