He thought he was doing what he’d always dreamt ‘bout
but the worlds been around for a whole lot longer
was he so naive to think that he could be smarter
falling into line with the plots of the universe
and he never even knew that his choices were rehearsed

when freedom dies, and decisions don’t fit
cant be blind and go hide
tag your it, tag your it

when freedom dies, people hang and let loose
not a care unless they’re dared
duck duck goose, duck duck goose,

both broken forms now reach a safe haven
both conscious now, and to avoid gettin’ loud
they turn on the TV and what do they see?
the deaths of the innoscent, blatant and proud
‘cause kids follow their role models – like it or not
if they realized it though, they’d prob’ly rather be shot:

we are what they want us to be

    I think I like the last two the best, but I had a hard time following all of it. Maybe I’m just tired! I like the references to games; the contrast between innocent youth and a dangerous reality.

    Ah it’s all so good. Childrens games crossed with violent reality. It’s so dark, the real Joker would be proud!

    This piece i found to be amazing. Granted, all poetry is good when written with purpose, but this certainly exceeded “good.” I love the way you added in the children’s games with such an angst-ish [yes i just made up an adjective!] subject. Would you mind if i read this to my literary club? and is so, should i credit it to Blossom Ruoquen?[how do you pronounce that?]
