Ice Planet Part 1

Lars stood outside the door, hesitating. He entered to find a small office. There was just enough room for an untidy desk and a rehydrater.Mark Samovar sat at the desk, a balding man who had recently started putting on weight. He was busy working, but when the door opened, he looked up and smiled warmly.”Lars! Why of all the people who could have walked through my door, you were the one I least expected.Greetings.Have a seat and tell me what brings you to my office.”Lars sat across from him.He smiled nervously and spoke.”My previous commision just ended.I’m out of work, and looking for a new position.” “Lars!Don’t tell me that the Party Vocation Commitee didn’t offer you a new position. There’s nothing wrong with your record.” “They did, but I have something specific in mind. I want to man an Atmospheric Generator.”

Interesting start with a good sense of just enough sci-fi thrown in as casually as you would expect the characters to treat it. The fact that it is all so run together (spacing not content) makes it a little more difficult to read, makes it feel smooshed.

Thanks. I always have a hard time fitting everything that I want to say into the alloted space. In this case I resorted to breaking it up into five parts, but I still taking up space with spaces when there was more that I wanted to say.
