Security Breach

Dr. Hoven was anticipating his first incision, when Agent Winters heard the initial gunfire. Then the compound’s alarm system activated.

“Security breach,” Winters said to the Doctor. “Move the subject to a secure location.”

Dr. Hoven, dismayed, did as he was told. Winters listened to the screams of her men and watched for any signs of the intruder.

A simple man came walking down the hall; his dark skin blended into his tuxedo, a white top hat standing out. Winters had leveled her firearm before she noticed her men trailing behind this man; their bones displayed thru flesh, joints twisted to impossible angles. Her men were dead and they were walking.

“Interesting,” Winters said, escaping into Side-Real Space.

But here, here it was worse. She faced a wall of the living dead. And the man was here: a skeleton, poisonous snakes wiggling thru the voids betwixt his bones.

“Can’t escape, woman,” the man said. “The Baron come for your soul.”

“You can’t have it,” she replied. “I already gave at the office.”
