Anyone Know What This Is? (I Sure Hope So)

We ran out of gas ten miles from town, the engine sputtering to a halt. I glanced over and looked at her, her beautiful black curls dancing.

“Honestly, we’re out of gas!” I said, raising my eyebrows.

“So,” she said (I could tell she thought I was lying), “what do we do now?”

I rolled my eyes and we got out of the car. It was only a few minutes later until she apologized for not believing me.

I grew uncomfortable as soon as she spoke and knew it was going to burst out. ”...Can I ask you something?” I said.

“What?”

Here it went. “You know I like you, don’t you?”

She smiled sheepishly. “Yes,” she breathed.

“And…I hope you like me…the way I like you.” Was it going to work?

“Yes.”

Oh, man! “I was wondering if…you would be my girl.”

“Oh, Michael.” I shuddered with glee at how gently she said it.

I grinned and gave her my ring. Now it was official. But…that also meant one secret had to lead to the next.

”...I have somethin’ I wanna tell you….”

Nope. Has nothing to do with Toyota…unless that’s what a certain now-frowned-upon star was driving in his/her 1982 video…and unless that Toyota commercial was spoofing it…

Well crap. This means I am the oldest commentator here. I actually gathered around the television when it first premiered, just to watch. We (my friends and I) can even still do the zombie dance! Boy, that really gives me the feeling that the 80’s really were a long time ago! ;)

Really?! I’m not the oldest commentator this time? I usually am, but I’ll gladly hand that title over. I don’t remember watching the video, but I do remember having breakdancing competitions with my best friend to the album (yes, album, big, flat black thing with grooves on it).
