This is a CHALLENGE !

For those of you out there who have read Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and/or Extras.

Well, maybe I shouldnt call this a challenge. It’s more of a….discussion.

Write a ficlet about whether or not you agree with Scott Westerfeld’s idea of what our future will be like. Will there be Uglies or Pretties or Specials or Extras? Will we have hoverboards and hovercams? Will there be Special Circumstances? Will we have face ranks?
-Include why you think the Rusties died out.
-Include how you think the Rusties died out.

And maybe after a while I’ll post a ficlet saying the REAL way how the Rusties died out.

    omg wats extras????? they have another one!!!! i didnt kno that!!!!! k now i have to find it and read then, then i’ll answer this, i luuuvvv uglies and pretties and specials thou, those books are awesome!!!

    I’ve read the first three. I’m just waiting to get Extras. After I read it, which shouldn’t take me tooo long, I’ll post a sequel. =)
    But you have me curious.. how do you know how the rusties died out??

    wait, didnt it say in the books that the rusties died out becaus of a release of chemicals that made gasoline explode, so all their vehicles and such exploded. i’m pretty sure that’s what the books said. maybe not?

    Yeah, Future Pirate, it said in Uglies that it was a result of Biochemical warfare and lack of respect for the nature around us. I’ve read all of Scott Westerfeld’s stuff and I really like it, but sorry I don’t think I can commit myself to this challenge. Too overwhelming. :P

    Ya, I think it said that. Anyways, how long r u keeping this challenge? I just got a Borders gift card cuz I asked for Extras for Christmas. I’m buying it 2morrow.

    didn’t the rusties die because of this .. virus thingy that spread to all gasoline.. when it hit oxygen it like blew up.. or something? so they couldnt go anywhere…?
