Crossing over (pt 3)

by Nat

Glancing down, I caught sight of myself. I was no longer in my Kids Gap overalls and Winnie the Pooh shirt. I was dressed to impress and to rush life in an already fast-paced world: I was in a deep blue sweater with black dress pants, and black stilettos. A glimmer of light was reflected on the leaf covered ground, yet the sun hid behind the clouds. I was the source, I realized. The ring on my left ring finger felt cold against my skin. It was weighing me down and I was stuck. Past happiness haunted me, taunting me with thing I no longer have: endless time, contentment (fullness of life), and bliss/carelessness.

Is she older? Has she gone into the future? That’s the impression I was getting—but I’ll have to keep reading!
