And that’s just the way it goes
Even those we trust
Throw it away for a bigger piece of pie
There isn’t much caring,
Not as much as there seems
For though the flowers are pretty
And soft to the touch,
Life in the velvet rosegarden
Is just a bunch of nonesuch

    I mostly just like the last four lines. They are good. I’d probably rate just the last four lines higher. Am moving back and forth between two and three stars. Editing comment—I think on the second to last line you mean “life” not “live”.
