Birds long for the sun (Fin)

by Blossom Ruoqen

You traded all your earthly loves for the devious wish in mankind,
for the sea wont obey the silent say
of whispers of a mind.

“I wish, I wish, I could fly where I’m not confined”
“please, please, don’t deceive me this time”

Undue your grasp, release your clutch
this final act: your touch.
Relinquish all your earthly binds.
And never care beyond your shine

The flying creatures sing reprieve
to the sun as it sinks in sleep

“please, please, don’t deceive…”
as they sink into the deep

The three parts flow well together, and I love them all. brava
