Post-Its Go To College!

by Nouvelle Bardot

Professors were always making us buy them, kind of like the way they make you buy highlighters making you think you’re going to actually highlight things and never actually do.

We had been using them for various communication efforts, like cheerful little reminders that screamed “Please put your damned dishes away!” or “Dear Roomie, Your room looks like the closet threw up.” or even, “Sorry, had a party and drank all your beer. PS. Don’t go in the bathroom if you value your life.”

They were also great reminders for houshold uses. If something needed to be cleaned, you put a Post-It note on that item that clearly read: “CLEAN ME!” Eventually in the distant future, one might get sick of having to see a post it note on every square inch of the house and something might get done.

Post-It notes were most beneficial for decoration purposes. With landlords that forbid paint and nails, it was always lovely to come home to a Post-It mural on the wall reminding me to buy more Frosted Flakes.

Ah, memories. Freshman year was a hoot. Didn’t use that many post-its, but maybe I should have.

If a Post-It addiction begins in college, then I must be very mature.

    I loved the humorous notes.

I have long been a lover of the entire school-supplies aisle (office supply stores are like crack), but I never thought of using Posties to decorate. I could do some awesome pieces, too, with all these sizes and colors . . .
