“Right well, ok, look maybe we should deal with the ears later, right now I think we should move to the next item on the agenda”.

There’s a rustling of papers as everyone present turns to the next item on the agenda. A hush falls over the room, everyone’s been waiting for this one.

“This is the biggy, ‘Item 16 – The Middle Section’. I’d like to open the floor up for ideas and remind everyone to stick to sensible ideas only.”

Silence, no one wants to go first, everyone wants to wait for someone else on the committee to come up with a stupid idea so they can criticise it.

“I think” says someone, pausing to stand up, in the pause you can practically hear everyone thinking how much of a fool this man is, he actually thinks he’s going to work out the middle bit. “I think” he continues “that we should put on a big hump for water storage on long journeys”.

Everyone pauses, no objections come, they sit back, smug in the knowledge that the horse would be a sensible creature indeed, it’ll probably win awards.
