Tears of a Little Girl

by Living In Wonder Land ♠

I stood there in the long line for the post office dusting the snow off of my jacket. A little girl entered her eyes red and watery, her jaw line gritted to hold back tears. She stood there in gym shorts and a sweater and a pair of dingy shoes. She had a small white evenlope in hand and two quarters. I looked at her her, I felt bad for her, she couldnt been any older then 12 or 13. She gripped the letter tightly and looked around clanking the two quarters together. The line moved slowly and so did the tears running down her cheek. Her brown eyes looked hazel through the watery tint. I gave her a weak smile and she looked at me for a second and turned her attention back to her scruffy white shoes.
“Are you buying a stamp?” I asked her and as she replied with a nod. I motioned for her to come in front of me. I watched her as she asked for a stamp, her voice quiet and tired. She turned before going and gave me a small smile and opened the door to the post office and vanished into the whirrling snow.

You need a few corrections and extra words plugged in to make the sentences clearer, but besides that this is loaded with good descriptions. I usually edit my stories at least 3 times in the first 10 minutes that they are submitted so I’m not too worried about the grammar problems. I would like to know more about the story—why this is happening. But again, the picture has been painted excellently.

I would love to here more about this if you care to write more…but then I suppose some things are better just left alone. This really does paint an awesome picture.
