Ficlets

The sun beamed down through the stained glass onto his closed eyes. He groaned did he HAVE to up NOW ! He pushed himself off the bed and stretched with a massive yawn. He pulled on some clothes and left his room. His father would be expecting him for breakfast, routine the two of them began after his mother passed away.

There was a sudden crackle like a built up static charge fired. Then an explosion rocked the castle walls. He hit the floor as debris flew against the walls and pelted his back. Seconds later he was on his feet running down the hallway. A troop of Royal Guardsman suddenly flanked him.

“Sire don’t move! Let us protect u!” one of them yelled.

He growled. ” We’re being attacked and you fools are sitting here!”

He pushed through and continued down the hall at full sprint. He came to the round room where he and his father had their breakfast. It was filled with attendants and generals with his father standing over a table with maps splayed over it.

Definitely not a normal breakfast….
